Oregon Coast Range... and the south Oregon Cascade foothills...

The National Weather Service in Portland has issued a Winter
Storm Warning... which is in effect from 4 am to 2 PM PST Thursday.

continuing into mid afternoon Thursday. Precipitation should
mainly be freezing rain by around 10 am.

* Snow accumulations... 1 to 2 or 3 inches of snow is possible
Thursday morning in the foothills and Coast Range... light
accumulations of a trace to less than an inch in the south
Willamette Valley.

* Ice accumulations... up to one quarter of an inch of ice is
possible Thursday morning... perhaps lasting into the early
afternoon.

* Impacts... travel will be difficult as some brief snow
accumulations change to sleet and then freezing rain and roads
become snow and ice covered and slick. Some power disruptions
are possible.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow, sleet,
and ice are expected or occurring. Strong winds are also possible.
This will make travel very hazardous or impossible.
