Winter Storm Warning
Issued: 2:00 PM PST Dec. 7, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Winter Storm Warning in effect from 8 am to 8 PM PST
Thursday for the South Washington and north Oregon
coasts...

The National Weather Service in Portland has issued a Winter
Storm Warning... which is in effect from 8 am to 8 PM PST Thursday.

* Timing... a mixture of snow... sleet and freezing rain is expected
to begin after sunrise Thursday and continue into the early
evening Thursday. The bulk of the precipitation will be freezing
rain. The precipitation may change to all rain by 4 PM in the
south but near and north of Astoria may take until mid evening
Thursday.

* Snow accumulations... snow and sleet accumulations are expected
to be relatively light... with the best chance of an inch of snow
in the northern sections toward Astoria and Long Beach.

* Ice accumulations... up to a quarter inch of ice is possible.

* Impacts... travel will be difficult as roads become icy. Some
power disruptions are possible.

A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow, sleet,
and ice are expected or occurring. Strong winds are also possible.
This will make travel very hazardous or impossible.
