... Winter Storm Warning in effect from 7 am Thursday to 4 am PST
Friday for the north Oregon Cascades for the north Oregon
Cascades...

The National Weather Service in Portland has issued a Winter
Storm Warning... which is in effect from 7 am Thursday to 4 am PST
Friday.

* Timing... a mix of snow... sleet... and freezing rain beginning in
the south around sunrise and spreading north through the
morning... turning to mostly rain or snow later Thursday night
and Friday.

* Snow accumulations... 5 to 10 inches.

* Ice accumulations... local ice accumulations of one tenth of an
inch.

* Snow levels... snow levels will rise to around 4500 feet late
Thursday and Friday night.

* Impacts... travel will be very difficult as roads become snow
covered and icy.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow, sleet,
and ice are expected or occurring. Strong winds are also possible.
This will make travel very hazardous or impossible.
