Watches & Warnings

Areal Flood Advisory
Issued: 6:15 PM HST Apr. 27, 2017 – National Weather Service

The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a

* flood advisory for...
the island of Oahu in Honolulu County

* until 915 PM HST

* at 607 PM HST, radar indicated spotty heavy rains falling across
parts of Oahu with rainfall rates of up to an inch an hour.

* Locations in the advisory include but are not limited to...
Nanakuli, Waipio, Aiea, Mililani, Maunawili, Punaluu, Waiahole,
and Honolulu.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone to
flooding.

Rainfall and runoff will also cause hazardous driving conditions due
to ponding, reduced visibility and poor braking action.

Do not cross fast flowing or rising water in your vehicle, or on
foot. Turn around, don't drown.

This advisory may need to be extended beyond 915 PM HST if heavy rain
persists.
