... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect from 10 PM this evening
to 10 am PST Monday...

* winds... south 40 to 60 mph with gusts up to 90 mph.

* Snow accumulations... 4 to 8 inches.

* Timing... strong winds developing by Sunday morning and
continuing through Sunday evening with increasing snowfall and
lowering snow levels Sunday night.

* Locations... the Grapevine area along Interstate 5... Frazier
Park... Cuddy Valley... Alta Sierra... Tehachapi and Walker Pass.

* Hazard types... winter driving conditions. Blowing snow and
strong winds.

* Impacts... strong winds will lead to blowing snow... reduced
visibility... and additional power outages.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather
conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of
snow are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in
an emergency. If you must travel... keep an extra flashlight...
food... and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.

... Gale watch remains in effect from Sunday morning through
Sunday afternoon...

* winds... south winds 20 to 30 kt with gusts to 40 kt are
possible when winds are strongest.

* Seas... combined seas of 11 to 14 feet with periods around 15
seconds are possible when waves are largest.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Small Craft Advisory means that hazardous sea conditions will
exist for small craft. Inexperienced mariners... especially those
operating smaller vessels should avoid navigating in these
conditions.

A gale watch is issued when hazardous gale force winds of 34 to
47 knots are probable in the near future... but the specific
timing and/or location is still uncertain. It is intended to
provide additional lead time for mariners who may wish to
consider altering their plans.
