this evening...

* winds and timing... areas of northwest winds 20 to 30 mph with
gusts to 45 mph are expected this afternoon and evening. Winds
will be strongest near the coast and across higher terrain.

* Impacts... cross winds can make driving difficult, especially
for drivers of high profile vehicles and vehicles towing
trailers.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

When driving, use extra caution. Be prepared for sudden gusty
cross winds.

Issued: 4:21 AM PDT Mar. 27, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Beach hazards statement in effect from noon PDT today through
late tonight...

* hazards... dangerous rip currents and sneaker waves are expected
on west facing beaches due to elevated and strong surf of 6 to
9 feet.

* Impacts... there is an increased risk for ocean drowning. Rip
currents can pull swimmers and surfers out to sea. Sneaker
waves can suddenly wash people off of beaches and rock
jetties.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A beach hazards statement is issued when threats such as rip
currents... longshore currents... sneaker waves and other hazards
create life-threatening conditions in the surf zone. Caution
should be used when in or near the water.
