Issued: 2:46 PM PDT Jun. 21, 2017 – National Weather Service

The National Weather Service in Hanford CA has issued a

* flood advisory for...
snowmelt in...
northeastern Kings County in central California...
northwestern Tulare County in central California...
central Fresno County in central California...

* until 230 am PDT Saturday

* at 236 PM PDT, gauge reports and public indicated minor flooding
along the Kings River. There are areas below Pine Flat dam that
have become very dangerous due to high water levels. This
hydrologic event will continue for the next few days.

Places just below Pine Flat dam, as well as Minkler and near
kingburg will be impacted with more evacuations possible. This flood
advisory also extends to just north of Hanford. Again, residents
living near the Kings River are likely to experience minor flooding.

ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is
imminent. Stay tuned to your local TV stations or NOAA Weather Radio.

Excessive Heat Warning
Issued: 3:52 AM PDT Jun. 22, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Excessive heat warning remains in effect until 11 PM PDT
Friday...

* temperatures... 105 to 110 degrees.

* Timing... through Friday evening.

* Impacts... prolonged exposure to these temperatures will
increase the risk of heat related illnesses such as heat
exhaustion and heat stroke. Children, the elderly, and people
with chronic respiratory ailments are the most susceptible to
heat related illness. Pets, crops, and livestock may also
require extra care through the hot weather.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Take extra precautions, if you work or spend time outside.
Shelter yourself from the hot sun if possible and schedule
strenuous physical work outside to the early morning or evening
hours. Wear light colored, loose fitting clothing if possible.
Remain hydrated and drink plenty of water. Know the signs and
symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

An excessive heat warning means that a prolonged period of
dangerously hot temperatures will occur. Prolonged exposure to
extreme heat can lead to heat exhaustion or heat stroke.

Young children and pets should never be left unattended in
vehicles under any circumstances. Look before you lock! The
temperature inside of a car on a hot day can climb to lethal
levels in a matter of minutes.
