Watches & Warnings

Flash Flood Watch
Issued: 4:37 AM PST Jan. 23, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect through this evening...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* a portion of southwest California... including the following
areas... apple and Lucerne valleys... Orange County coastal
areas... Orange County inland areas... Riverside County
mountains... San Bernardino County mountains... San Bernardino
and Riverside County valleys-the inland Empire... San Gorgonio
Pass near Banning and Santa Ana Mountains and foothills.

* Through this evening

* soils are nearly saturated from recent heavy rainfall. Periods
of showers will continue through this evening with brief heavy
rainfall. Bands of showers... stronger showers with heavier
rainfall... and isolated thunderstorms have greater potential to
cause Urban and Small Stream flooding and isolated flash
flooding. Heavy rainfall over recent burn scars could result in
debris flows and mud slides.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
