... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect through this evening...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* a portion of southwest California... including the following
areas... Coachella Valley... San Diego County coastal areas...
San Diego County deserts... San Diego County mountains and San
Diego County valleys.

* Through this evening

* soils are nearly saturated from recent heavy rainfall. Periods
of showers will continue through this evening with brief heavy
rainfall. Bands of showers... stronger showers with heavier
rainfall... and isolated thunderstorms have greater potential to
cause Urban and Small Stream flooding and isolated flash
flooding. Heavy rainfall over recent burn scars could result in
debris flows and mud slides.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.

The National Weather Service in San Diego has issued a

* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
Riverside County in Southern California...

* until 515 PM PST Tuesday

* a Flood Advisory has been issued for the Coachella canal through

* Moderate to heavy rainfall on the mountain slopes will be draining
into the Whitewater river basin through Monday night, along with
surface flow from periods of showers moving over the Coachella
Valley. This will create flows through the Coachella canal capable
of inundating low-water crossings, and may create pockets of
dangerous, swift-water stretches.

* Some locations that will likely experience flooding include...
Indio, Coachella, northern Palm Springs, Cathedral City, Palm
Desert, Rancho Mirage, thermal, Whitewater, Mecca, Indian Wells,
Thousand Palms, Bermuda Dunes and La Quinta.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...
turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles. Do not drive your vehicle into areas where
the water covers the roadway. The water depth may be too great to
allow your car to cross safely.

Stretches of fast-moving water can also pose a danger, especially
for children and pets. Recreation in these areas is highly

* winds... southwest 15 to 25 kt with gusts to 30 kt. Winds
decreasing slightly during the day while gradually becoming
west and then northwest.

* Waves/seas... combined seas of 10 to 12 feet.

* Outlook... winds will gradually decrease today and tonight... but
seas will continue high through Tuesday before lowering Tuesday

A Gale Warning means winds of 34 to 47 knots are imminent or
occurring. Operating a vessel in gale conditions requires
experience and properly equipped vessels. It is highly
recommended that mariners without the proper experience seek safe
