through late Thursday night...

* winds... westerly 20 to 40 mph with gusts up to 65 mph near the
desert slopes and foothills.

* Timing... winds increasing Thursday morning and becoming strong
and gusty in the afternoon. Strongest winds Thursday evening.
Winds will switch to north Thursday night.

of 58 mph or stronger may occur. Continue to monitor the latest
