... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 6 am PST

* snow levels... around 5000 feet.

* Timing... today and tonight.

* Snow accumulations... above 6000 feet... 10 to 15 inches. 5000 to
6000 feet... 4 to 8 inches.

* Winds... west 25 to 45 mph with gusts to 60 mph... and local
gusts over 70 mph.

* Visibility... near zero at times in snow... blowing snow and fog.

* Impacts... travel will be dangerous at times over the mountains
due to snow covered roads... strong winds and low visibility.
Dangerous cross winds for high profile vehicles. Winds may
cause structural damage and knock down trees and power lines.

* Outlook... a warmer storm will bring mainly rain on Sunday...
then cooling on Monday will bring some snow to the San Diego
County mountains above 4000 foot elevation.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather
conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of
snow are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in
an emergency. If you must travel... keep an extra flashlight...
food... and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.

* Flood Warning continues for the San Diego River at Fashion Valley

* at 9 PM Friday the river stage was 11.99 feet

* flood stage is 11.3 feet

* the river will remain above flood stage tonight. It is forecast to fall
below flood Saturday morning.

* Impacts:

Low water crossings over the river in Mission Valley are closed and under water.

Roads impacted include... Fashion Valley Road, Avenida del Rio, Camino del este,
Camino de la reina, and mission Center Road.

Water flows into Fashion Valley parking lot. Riverwalk Golf course
will be impacted.

... Gale Warning in effect from 10 am Sunday to 4 am PST Tuesday...

The National Weather Service in San Diego has issued a Gale
Warning... which is in effect from 10 am Sunday to 4 am PST

* Winds... southwest to west winds 20 to 30 kt with gusts to 35 kt.
Winds will diminish this afternoon and evening. Winds will
increase to gale force again Sunday morning and afternoon as
the next storm approaches.

* Waves/seas... combined seas 12 to 18 feet today... then seas
lowering to 8 to 13 feet tonight. Seas increasing again Sunday
to 12 to 18 feet... with rough seas continuing through Monday

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Gale Warning means winds of 34 to 47 knots are imminent or
occurring. Operating a vessel in gale conditions requires
experience and properly equipped vessels. It is highly
recommended that mariners without the proper experience seek safe
Harbor prior to the onset of gale conditions.
