Heat Advisory
Issued: 3:02 PM PDT Jul. 25, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Heat advisory in effect from 11 am Wednesday to 11 PM PDT
Friday...

The National Weather Service in Reno has issued a heat advisory,
which is in effect from 11 am Wednesday to 11 PM PDT Friday.

* Temperature: high temperatures of 103 to 109 degrees are
expected for the valleys each afternoon Wednesday through
Friday. Overnight lows will be in the 60s.

* Impacts: hot temperatures each afternoon will increase the
threat of heat related illnesses.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When
possible, reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or
evening. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing when
possible and drink plenty of water. Young children and pets
should never be left unattended in vehicles under any
circumstances. This is especially true during warm or hot weather
when car interiors can reach lethal temperatures in a matter of
minutes. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and
shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency... call 9 1 1.
