Flood Warning
Issued: 3:39 PM PDT Jun. 20, 2017 – National Weather Service

The Flood Warning continues for
the Walker River near Mason.
* Until further notice.
* At 3:15 PM Tuesday the stage was 10.5 feet.
* Flood stage is 9.8 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and moderate to major flooding is
forecast.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 11.9 feet by late
Saturday evening. Additional rises may be possible thereafter.
* Impact... at 11.9 feet... moderate to major flooding in the Mason
Valley-Yerington area. Some portions of Yerington may flood if
breaches develop and the river spreads east. Flooding of many
secondary and some primary roads occurs. Structures adjacent to
the river in the flood plain may be damaged if not protected.
Extensive flooding of farmland and pasture near the river flood.
* This flood wave will continue downstream to the Weber Reservoir.
* Flood history... this crest compares to a previous crest of 11.6
feet on July 11 1995.

Areal Flood Advisory
Issued: 10:09 AM PDT Jun. 16, 2017 – National Weather Service

The National Weather Service in Reno has issued a

* flood advisory for...
rain and snowmelt in...
north central Pershing County in west central Nevada...

* until 945 am PDT Thursday

* the lower Humboldt River is slowly rising again in response to
snowmelt and recent rain. Renewed minor flooding impacts are
expected.

* River levels are expected to remain slightly above or near the
flood stage of 10.3 feet for a week or more.

* Minor flooding of the Tungsten Road south of the river between the
river and The Pit Taylor canal is expected. Some minor lowland
flooding is also possible near the river from the Humboldt County
line to Rye Patch.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Use caution on rural roads near the river that may be impacted
by high flows.
