above 6500 feet...

* impacts/timing: snow is already accumulating over Lost Trail
Pass this evening, and the rest of Lemhi County above 6500 feet
will see snow by late this evening. Periods of moderate to
occasionally heavy snow will continue through early Friday.
Roadways above 6500 feet will likely experience Road conditions
fluctuating between snow packed and wet throughout the period.
This will lead to changeable, and slow driving conditions.


* Snow accumulations: generally 2 to 5 inches, localized totals
over 8 inches.

* Locations impacted include: Lost Trail Pass, Bannock Pass,
Highway 28 Tendoy to Lone Pine, and Lemhi Pass

* at 1107 am MDT, radar showed large area of rain across eastern
Washington and Oregon moving into central Idaho. Steady rain,
moderate to heavy at times, is expected to begin this afternoon
and persist through Thursday. The intense moderate to heavy rain
at times may produce rock and/or mud slides in areas suseptible to
these events, especially Salmon River Road. The steady
precipitation is expected to diminish late Thursday afternoon.
