... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 11 am MST
Friday...

* impacts... roads becoming snow covered and slick, creating
hazardous driving conditions, especially for Thursday morning
commutes to work and school.

* Timing... snow beginning around sunset this evening, possibly
beginning as rain in valleys. Snow heavy at times this evening
and overnight, especially above 6000 ft.

* Snow accumulations... 4 to 8 inches in valleys and 6 to 12
inches above 6500 ft through noon Friday.

* Confidence... timing, medium to high. Amounts, medium. Location
of heaviest snow, low to medium.

* Locations... Lava Hot Springs, Soda Springs, Preston, Montpelier.
Emigration pass, Fish Creek Summit, Georgetown Summit, Geneva
Summit.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow and
blowing snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be
prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities, and
reduce driving speeds.




Areal Flood Warning
Issued: 11:57 AM MST Feb. 22, 2017 – National Weather Service

The National Weather Service in Pocatello has issued a

* Flood Warning for...
rain and snowmelt in...
Oneida County in southeastern Idaho...
Franklin County in southeastern Idaho...

* until 1145 am MST Friday

* local emergency management and National Weather Service employees
reported continued low land flooding over roadways and impacting
houses. Though cooler temperatures are expected to move into the
area today into tonight, continued snow melt is likely especially
with several inches of snow in the forecast. Snow will start this
evening and continue through early Friday. Temperatures will
gradually start to rise Saturday and daytime temperatures will
approach the 40s by Monday.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Preston, Malad, Franklin, Juniper, Oneida Narrows Reservoir,
Pleasantview, Cherry Creek rest area, Holbrook Summit, Thatcher,
Dayton, Weston, Clifton, Oxford, Mapleton, stone, Mink Creek,
Samaria, Whitney, Riverdale and Holbrook.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying
spots.

Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you
can do so safely.

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. All
interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately.
