Special Statement
Issued: 1:33 PM MDT Jul. 23, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Very dry air and breezy conditions will continue through
Sunday...

Very dry air has moved over western and central Wyoming behind
a cold front that moved through the area over night. Much of
the area has a relative humidity from 10 to 15 percent. Local
breezy to windy conditions will continue this afternoon and
evening. The stronger winds are rather localized and terrain
driven... unlike yesterday when the cold frontal passage and
strong thunderstorm outflows produced the high winds.

Several large wildfires are occurring across the area. Conditions
support the rapid spread of fires. Outdoor burning is not
recommended through the weekend. Campers should use extreme
caution with Camp fires. Before leaving a Camp fire make sure it
is completely extinguished and cold with no burning embers
remaining.

Some roads have been closed or have travel restrictions due to the
ongoing large wildfires. Contact the Wyoming Department of
Transportation at 5 1 1 for current Road closures. Area closures
are in effect around the wildfires in the National forests and
Grasslands. Check with the local National Forest service office
or Bureau of land management offices about access to public lands
around the wildfires.
