Winter Weather Advisory
Issued: 1:40 PM MDT Apr. 24, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 6 PM this evening to
6 PM MDT Tuesday...

The National Weather Service in Billings has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory for snow which is in effect from 6 PM this
evening to 6 PM MDT Tuesday.

* Impacts... heavy, wet snow will make for very difficult
traveling conditions with poor visibility and roads becoming
snow packed. Downed tree branches and power outages are
possible. Young livestock may be at risk.

* Timing... rain will develop this evening and change to wet
snow overnight. The wet snow will continue through early
Tuesday afternoon.

* Snow accumulation... 3 to 6 inches of heavy, wet snow, with
heavier amounts possible on ridges and higher hills.

* Winds... northeast winds of 10 to 20 mph will make for poor
visibility in snowfall, along with lowering wind chill
values.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory can be issued for a variety of winter
weather conditions such as light snow... blowing snow... sleet...
freezing rain... and extreme wind chills.
