Winter Weather Advisory
Issued: 4:17 AM MDT Apr. 26, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 6 PM this evening to
6 PM MDT Thursday...

The National Weather Service in Denver has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory for snow, which is in effect from 6 PM this
evening to 6 PM MDT Thursday.

* Timing... snow showers will increase in coverage this afternoon,
but then become heavier and more widespread tonight into
Thursday morning. Snow will taper off again late Thursday
afternoon.

* Snow accumulations... 4 to 8 inches, with local amounts up to one
foot.

* Wind/visibility... west winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 35 mph.
Visibility may be reduced to one quarter mile in the heavier
snow showers.

* Impacts... colder temperatures arriving tonight will allow snow
and slush to accumulate on roads. Travelers headed into the
Colorado high country should be prepared for winter travel
conditions. Traction and chain Laws may be enacted over the
High Mountain passes tonight and Thursday.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow
will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow
covered roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while
driving.
