Flood Warning
Issued: 2:54 AM CDT May. 29, 2017 – National Weather Service

The National Weather Service in Corpus Christi has issued a

* Flood Warning for
the Oso creek near Corpus Christi.
* From this morning to Tuesday afternoon... or until the warning is
cancelled.
* At 2:15 am Monday the stage was 6.7 feet.
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
* Forecast: rise above flood stage by late this morning and continue
to rise to as much as 22 feet by this afternoon. The river will fall
below flood stage by tonight.

* At 20.0 feet moderate lowland flooding occurs, from the headwaters
near Violet Road, or farm to Market 24, to Oso Bay. Secondary roads
and low bridges near the creek are also flooded.

Coastal Flood Warning, Coastal Hazard Statement
Issued: 9:02 AM CDT May. 29, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Coastal Flood Warning in effect until 6 PM CDT this evening...
... High rip current risk in effect until 6 PM CDT this evening...

The National Weather Service in Corpus Christi has issued a
coastal Flood Warning, which is in effect until 6 PM CDT this
evening. A high rip current risk has also been issued. This high
rip current risk is in effect until 6 PM CDT this evening.

* Coastal flooding... 2 to 3 feet above msl for Gulf facing
beaches.

* Timing... through the afternoon.

* Impacts... wave run up into the dunes resulting in limited to
impossible beach driving conditions. Strong and potentially life
threatening rip currents will occur along Gulf facing beaches of
the middle Texas coast.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A coastal Flood Warning means that flooding is occurring or
imminent. Coastal residents in the warned area should be alert
for rising water... and take appropriate action to protect life
and property.

Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and
float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a
direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the
shore and call or wave for help.





Wind Advisory
Issued: 8:35 AM CDT May. 29, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Wind Advisory in effect until noon CDT today...

The National Weather Service in Corpus Christi has issued a Wind
Advisory, which is in effect until noon CDT today.

* Timing... through late morning.

* Winds... east at 20 to 35 mph with gusts around 50 mph possible.


* Impacts... motorists in high profile vehicles may experience
hazardous driving conditions, and workers at higher elevations
at construction sites may experience much stronger wind.
Further, residents in the advisory area should watch out for
objects that can be blown about by the wind.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Advisory means that sustained winds of 30 mph or greater...
or wind gusts around 40 mph or greater are expected. Winds this
strong can make driving difficult... especially for high profile
vehicles. Use extra caution.
