... High rip current risk now in effect until 5 am CDT Saturday...

* timing... through the early morning hours Saturday.

* Impacts... strong and potentially life threatening rip currents
will occur along Gulf facing beaches of the middle Texas coast.
The surf will remain dangerous for all levels of swimmers.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and
float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a
direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the
shore and call or wave for help.
