Issued: 10:43 AM CDT Aug. 17, 2017 – National Weather Service

The National Weather Service in Fort Worth has issued a

* Flood Warning for...
Grayson County in north central Texas...

* until 145 PM CDT

* at 1044 am CDT, emergency management reported flooding of several
roadways across Grayson County. While the rainfall has
ended... excessive runoff from the 2 to over 4 inches of rain that
fell earlier this morning will continue to result in
streams... creeks and some rivers exceeding their banks across the
area. Numerous low lying areas will also remain flooded.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Sherman, Whitesboro, Van Alstyne, Howe, Collinsville, Whitewright,
Gunter, Bells, Tom Bean, Knollwood, Dorchester, Southmayd, Tioga,
Sadler and Luella.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you
can do so safely.

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. Water
rises will generally be gradual, but flooding of some low water
crossings and other low-lying areas near rivers, creeks, and streams
is expected.
