* Flash Flood Warning for...
southeastern Cheyenne County in northwestern Kansas...
northwestern Thomas County in northwestern Kansas...
southwestern Rawlins County in northwestern Kansas...
northeastern Sherman County in northwestern Kansas...

* until 145 am MDT/245 am CDT/

* at 1042 PM MDT/1142 PM CDT/, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms
producing heavy rain across the warned area. Up to three inches of
rain have already fallen. Flash flooding is expected to begin
shortly.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Brewster and Levant.

Additional rainfall amounts up to two inches are possible in the
warned area.

This includes Interstate 70 in Kansas between mile markers 38 and 53.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying
spots.

* at 1040 PM MDT/1140 PM CDT/, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms
producing heavy rain across the warned area. Radar indicates 2 to
4 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is likely already
occurring.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Goodland.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...
