Dense Fog Advisory
Issued: 3:59 AM CST Dec. 5, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Dense fog advisory in effect until noon CST today...

The National Weather Service in Saint Louis has issued a dense
fog advisory... which is in effect until noon CST today.

* Timing... until 1200 noon today.

* Visibilities... visibilities of one-quarter mile or less at
times are expected.

* Impacts... rapid changes in visibility will cause hazardous
driving conditions. Additionally... freezing temperatures in the
advisory area may lead to trace accumulations of ice. Highway
bridges and overpasses may become slippery.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A dense fog advisory is issued when dense fog will substantially
reduce visibilities... to one-quarter mile or less... resulting in
hazardous driving conditions in many areas. Motorists are advised
to use caution and slow down... as objects on and near roadways
will be seen only at close range. Additionally, use extra caution
on Highway bridges and overpasses due to the potential for trace
ice accumulations.
