The National Weather Service has issued Severe Thunderstorm Watch
289 until 7 am CDT this morning which replaces a portion of
Tornado Watch 284. The new watch is valid for the following areas

In Missouri the new watch includes 2 counties

In southwest Missouri

Barry McDonald

This includes the cities of Anderson, Cassville, Goodman, Madry,
Monett, Noel, Pineville, Rocky Comfort, and South West City.

The National Weather Service in Springfield has issued a

* Flood Warning for...
Christian County in southwestern Missouri...
Taney County in southwestern Missouri...
Stone County in southwestern Missouri...
McDonald County in southwestern Missouri...
Barry County in southwestern Missouri...
Greene County in southwestern Missouri...

* until 1015 am CDT Sunday

* at 1018 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
thunderstorms with heavy rain are occuring or have occurred across
the area. Several areas have received one to three inches of
rainfall. Flooding will remain possible overnight. This warning
will replace the flash flood warnings once those expire.

* Creeks, streams, and low water crossings will be especially
susceptible to the dangers of flooding.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the

Flash Flood Watch

... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect until 7 am CDT Sunday...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of south central Missouri and southwest Missouri,
including the following areas, in south central Missouri,
Dent, Howell, Oregon, Shannon, and Texas. In southwest
Missouri, Barry, Christian, Douglas, Greene, Jasper, Lawrence,
McDonald, Newton, Ozark, stone, Taney, Webster, and Wright.

* Until 7 am CDT Sunday

* multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms producing
torrential rainfall will impact far southern Missouri generally
south of Highway 60 along the Missouri Arkansas border into
early Sunday morning. Storm total rainfall amounts will range
from one to three inches with locally higher amounts in excess
of five inches.

* This excessive rainfall will lead to flash flooding of streams,
low lying and poor drainage areas including low water
crossings. Those camping along area streams and rivers should be
especially cautious as streams and rivers can rise very
quickly.

Dangerous flash flooding will impact some areas along the
arkasas border.

to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
