Watches & Warnings

Flash Flood Warning
Issued: 7:59 PM CDT Jul. 26, 2016 – National Weather Service

... The Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 1045 PM CDT for
McDonald County...

At 750 PM CDT... light to moderate rain was occurring across the
warned area. Additionally... local law enforcement reported flash
flooding around the community of Jane and Pineville earlier this
evening. Although the heavier rainfall has ended... residual flooding
will still be possible.

This warning includes but is not limited to the following low water
crossings...
Highway 43 at Buffalo Creek west of Anderson...
Route dd at the Elk River just north of Noel...
Highway 76... 3 miles west of Anderson...
and Highway 90 at little Sugar Creek near Jane.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to travel across
flooded roads. Find an alternate Route. It takes only a few inches
of swiftly flowing water to carry vehicles away.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
