The Flood Warning continues for
the Mississippi River at Hannibal
* until further notice.
* At 10:15 PM Sunday the stage was 19.5 feet.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* The river is forecast to crest near 20.6 feet by Tuesday early
afternoon.
* Impact: at 20.5 feet... the Burlington northern/sante fe Railroad
tracks running north and south and the Railroad yards begin to
flood. At this height, water reaches the base of the two flood
gates at hill street and center steet, so these gates should
already be installed and locked down. Also at this level,
preparations are made to install the remaining 3 flood gates on
Broadway Avenue and Main Street if the forecast reaches 21.5 feet.
* Impact: at 20.2 feet... Nipper park begins flooding on the Hannibal
riverfront.

* Impact: at 17.0 feet... flood stage: minor flooding begins.

* At 10:15 PM Sunday the stage was 18.9 feet.
* Flood stage is 17.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* The river is forecast to crest near 19.7 feet by Tuesday evening.
* Impact: at 20.0 feet... the clat Adams Bicentennial Park, just north
of the Memorial bridge, begins flooding.
* Impact: at 19.5 feet... garages beneath raised homes along
bonansinga drive will begin flooding near this height.
* Impact: at 19.0 feet... Quincy Parks, including all America, kesler,
sid Simpson, and bob Bangert Parks north of Broadway, begin
flooding.

* Flood Warning for...
northwestern Greene County in southwestern Illinois...
Pike County in west central Illinois...
Calhoun County in southwestern Illinois...
Ralls County in northeastern Missouri...
Lincoln County in east central Missouri...
Montgomery County in east central Missouri...
Shelby County in northeastern Missouri...
Pike County in northeastern Missouri...
eastern Audrain County in central Missouri...
Marion County in northeastern Missouri...
Monroe County in northeastern Missouri...
Warren County in east central Missouri...
northern Gasconade County in east central Missouri...

* until 1100 am CDT Monday.

* At 1058 PM CDT, reporting gauges indicated continued flooding on
area streams and rivers. Numerous roads remain closed across the
warned area.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Hannibal, Washington, Troy, Warrenton, Bowling Green, Pittsfield,
Vandalia, Palmyra, Louisiana, Wright City, Montgomery City, Monroe
City, Hermann, Elsberry, Shelbina, Paris, Wellsville, Santa Fe,
Warren and Moscow Mills.

This includes the following highways...
Interstate 72 between exits 4 and 35.
Interstate 70 in Missouri between exits 170 and 200.

This also includes deutschheim historic site, Cuivre River State
Park, Union Covered Bridge historic site, Graham Cave State Park,
Mark Twain Lake recreational area, and Pere Marquette State Park.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall is causing flooding of small
creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying
spots.

* Flood stage is 13.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* The river is forecast to remain near steady near 15.0 feet into early
Monday morning, then fall below flood stage Monday late morning.
* Impact: at 14.0 feet... Marion County Rd 341 north of Palmyra
inundated. Significant agricultural land flooding... right bank.

* At 8:30 PM Sunday the stage was 11.2 feet.
* Flood stage is 9.5 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* The river is forecast to continue falling to below flood stage by
Monday evening.
* Impact: at 11.0 feet... both banks begin to overflow low level
farmlands.
