The Flood Warning continues for the Ohio River at Paducah.
* From Tuesday evening to Tuesday may 09.
* At 9 PM Sunday the stage was 36.3 feet.
* Flood stage is 39.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage late Tuesday and crest near
40.5 feet Friday, may 5th.
* Impact... at 39.0 feet... minor flooding occurs affecting mainly
bottomland and surrounding low lying areas.

The Flood Warning continues for the Ohio River at the Grand Chain dam
* until further notice.
* At 9 PM Sunday the stage was 45.8 feet.
* Flood stage is 42.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... moderate flooding will begin Tuesday and the river will
crest near 51.0 feet Saturday may 6th.

* Flood stage is 37.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will crest near 43.0 feet Saturday, may 6th.

* Flood Warning for...
Union County in southern Illinois...
Massac County in southern Illinois...
Pope County in southern Illinois...
Johnson County in southern Illinois...
Fulton County in western Kentucky...
Hickman County in western Kentucky...
Carlisle County in western Kentucky...
McCracken County in western Kentucky...
Ballard County in western Kentucky...
Graves County in western Kentucky...

* until 545 am CDT Monday

* at 546 PM CDT, flooding continued in many areas. The threat for
heavy rainfall is over. However, flooding along rivers, creeks and
streams will continue, along with numerous water covered, flooded
roads. The dangers will increase tonight as the dangers of
flooding become harder to recognize. There should be improvement in
some areas.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Paducah, Mayfield, Metropolis, Anna, Fulton, Hickman, Jonesboro,
Vienna, Clinton, La Center, Bardwell, Wickliffe, Lone Oak,
Reidland, Cobden, Goreville, Brookport, Dongola, Barlow and
Golconda.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying
spots.
