The National Weather Service in Chicago has issued a

* Flood Warning for...
Ogle County in north central Illinois...
northwestern De Kalb County in north central Illinois...

* until 1230 PM CDT Saturday

* at 627 am CDT, local law enforcement officials reported widespread
flooding across Ogle County and in northern portions of De Kalb
County around the Kingston area as a result of heavy rainfall
overnight.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Rochelle, Oregon, Mount Morris, DeKalb, Byron, Polo, Kirkland,
Forreston, Hillcrest, Kingston, Malta, Stillman Valley, Davis
Junction, Creston, Leaf River and Adeline.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of north central Illinois and northeast Illinois,
including the following areas, in north central Illinois,
Boone, De Kalb, La Salle, Lee, Ogle, and Winnebago. In
northeast Illinois, Cook, dupage, Grundy, Kane, Kendall, Lake
IL, McHenry, and will.

* Until 9 am CDT this morning.

* Additional rain and thunderstorms early this morning may produce
locally heavy rainfall.

* Additional heavy rainfall may exacerbate flooding already
occurring across portions of northern Illinois... producing new
rises on area rivers and creeks.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
