... The Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 1100 PM CDT
Saturday for southeastern Winnebago... southern Boone and southwestern
McHenry counties...

At 718 PM CDT... widespread flooding was occurring across the warned
area. Radar rainfall estimates indicate that between three and as
much as four and a half inches of rain had fallen from earlier
storms. Another line of thunderstorms was approaching from the west
and will impact the warned area after 815 PM CDT. Additional
rainfall of a half to three quarters of an inch is possible with
these storms.

Flash flooding is already occurring... with several reports of closed
roads and stuck vehicles from the southeast side of Rockford... to
Cherry Valley and Belvidere.

Some locations that will continue to experience flooding include...
Rockford... Belvidere... Marengo... Rockford Airport... Cherry
Valley... Davis Junction and new Millford.

Including the following interstates...

I-39 between mile markers 115 and 123.
I-90 between mile markers 42 and 64.

This includes... Boone County Fairgrounds.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around... dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

... The Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory remains in effect until
1045 PM CDT for southeastern McHenry and lake counties...

At 803 PM CDT... radar rainfall estimates indicated that between one
and a half and two and a half inches of rain had fallen from earlier
thunderstorms. Flooding of viaducts and other low lying areas has
been reported. Another line of thunderstorms will move east across
the advisory area shortly... and may produce additional rainfall of a
half inch to an inch an a half. This will likely result in
additional urban flooding.

be at or above the unhealthy for sensitive groups category of the
air quality index.

Active children and adults especially people with pulmonary or
respiratory disease such as asthma should limit prolonged outdoor
activity.

to initiate their activities. Residents are also urged to reduce
