The Flood Warning continues for
the Kickapoo river at Viola.
* Until late Sunday night... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 7:59 PM Thursday the stage was 17.9 feet.
* Flood stage is 14.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 21.2 feet by
Friday morning. The river will fall below flood stage Sunday
morning.
* Impact... at 20.0 feet... water reaches the underside of the bridge,
and the bridge begins to act as a dam holding back water.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Kickapoo river at La Farge.
* Until Saturday morning... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 8:58 PM Thursday the stage was 15.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
* Major flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 15.4 feet by
Friday morning. The river will fall below flood stage Friday.
* Impact... at 14.0 feet... there is significant flooding in and around
La Farge.

The National Weather Service in La Crosse has issued a

* Flood Warning for...
southwestern Juneau County in central Wisconsin...
Vernon County in southwestern Wisconsin...
Richland County in southwestern Wisconsin...
northeastern Crawford County in southwestern Wisconsin...

* until 900 am CDT Friday

* at 856 PM CDT, flooding continues along many area rivers and
streams. Pine Creek was rising quickly in Richland Center.
Continue to heed Road closures and stay away from flood waters.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Richland Center, Viroqua, Westby, Elroy, Hillsboro, Wonewoc,
Stoddard, Coon Valley, La Farge, Clayton, Germantown, Newton,
Springville, Lone Rock, Rockbridge, Viola, Avoca, Ithaca, Soldiers
Grove and Sylvan.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect from Friday afternoon
through Saturday morning...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of northeast Iowa, southeast Minnesota, and Wisconsin,
including the following counties, in northeast Iowa, Allamakee,
Clayton, Howard, and Winneshiek. In southeast Minnesota, Dodge,
Fillmore, Houston, Mower, Olmsted, Wabasha, and Winona. In
Wisconsin, Adams, Buffalo, Crawford, Grant, Jackson, Juneau, La
Crosse, Monroe, Richland, Trempealeau, and Vernon.

* From Friday afternoon through Saturday morning

* heavy rainfall of 1 to 3 inches with locally higher amounts
possible.

* Impacts could include flash flooding, additional Road
washouts, rock and mud slides, and river flooding.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
