Issued: 6:55 PM CST Dec. 10, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until noon CST Sunday...

* short term trends... a band of moderate locally heavy snow is
expected to develop later this evening and span across much of
northern Iowa during the overnight hours.

* Storm total snow accumulations... total accumulations will
range from 6 to 9 inches. Locally higher accumulations may
occur.

* Winds/visibility... southeast winds 10 to 15 mph will increase
overnight into the 15 to 20 mph range with gusts near 25 mph.
Visibilities will be reduced to less than one half mile at
times.

* Impacts... the primary impacts will be very hazardous travel
conditions due to reduced visibility and snow covered and icy
roads.

conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of snow
are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in an
emergency. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food,
and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
