Areal Flood Warning
Issued: 2:50 PM CDT Aug. 26, 2016 – National Weather Service

... A Flood Warning remains in effect until 1045 PM CDT Friday for
southwestern Chickasaw County...

The Little Cedar river in southwest Chickasaw County Iowa continues
to flood. While more roads are being opened in the area from
receding waters, some roads remained closed due to high water
according to the Chickasaw County sheriff department.

River levels will continue to drop so improving conditions are
expected. Until then use caution when traveling through this area.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around... don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become
unstable and unsafe.

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. All
interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately.
