Special Statement
Issued: 3:03 AM CST Feb. 26, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Area of snow creating slippery roads early this morning...

At 3 am, an area of light to moderate snow, with pockets of heavy
snow, was moving eastward through southeast St. Louis, eastern
Carlton, Southern Lake, northern Douglas, and northwestern
Bayfield counties early this morning.

The band will move out of Minnesota and much of Douglas County
and into the remainder of northern Bayfield County by 5 am.
Locations affected by the snow include the twin ports, Two
Harbors, Silver Bay, Poplar, Iron River, Ino, Port Wing, Bayfield,
and Washburn.

Use caution if traveling this morning. Visibility of three-
quarters of a mile or less can be expected. Many area roads are
snow covered and slippery. Reduce your speed and allow extra
stopping distance at intersections and behind other vehicles.
Remember, it's better to be going slow and wish you were going
faster, than go fast and wish you were going slower.
