Issued: 2:53 PM CST Feb. 23, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Winter Storm Warning in effect from midnight tonight to 6 am
CST Saturday...

The National Weather Service in Duluth has issued a Winter Storm
Warning for heavy snow... which is in effect from midnight tonight
to 6 am CST Saturday. The Winter Storm Watch is no longer in
effect.

* Timing... snow will begin after midnight tonight, continue most
of Friday before ending early Saturday morning.

* Locations... east of a line from Hayward to Ashland Wisconsin.

* Snow accumulations... 4 to 8 inches.

* Winds... north 5 to 15 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.

* Visibilities... less than one half mile in the heavier snow.

* Impacts... snow and ice accumulations will make many roads
treacherous and impassable.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means heavy snow
accumulation is anticipated, and that snowfall rates of one inch
per hour or greater can be expected at times. Expect snow and ice
covered roads and visibility less than a quarter mile. If you must
travel... exercise extreme caution and allow extra time to reach
your destination.
