The Flood Watch continues for
the Coquille river at Coquille
* until Friday afternoon.
* At 4:30 am Wednesday the stage was 11.7 feet.
* Minor flooding is possible.
* Flood stage is 21.0 feet.
* Forecast... flood stage may be reached by this morning.




307 am PST Wed Jan 18 2017

... High surf advisory remains in effect until 7 PM PST this
evening...

* waves and surf... average breaker heights 23 to 28 feet... lowest
in the vicinity of Point Saint George and Brookings... highest
from Gold Beach to Charleston.

* Timing... late this evening through Wednesday afternoon. The
largest waves are expected late tonight through Wednesday
afternoon.

* Impacts... while the entire area is expected to be impacted...
waves from this direction pose the greatest risk to south and
southwest facing beaches... jetties... and ports such as Port
Orford. Areas within line of site to the open ocean to the
south and southwest will be most impacted. Stay a safe
distance from the ocean... beaches... jetties... and
headlands... secure boats... and never turn your back to the
ocean.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A high surf advisory means that high surf will affect beaches in
the advisory area... producing rip currents and localized beach
erosion.





High Wind Warning
Issued: 1:51 AM PST Jan. 18, 2017 – National Weather Service

... High Wind Warning remains in effect until 4 PM PST this
afternoon...

* winds... south 35 to 50 mph with gusts up to 70 mph.

* Timing... winds will peak this morning and then diminish this
afternoon.

* Locations include... Gold Beach... Port Orford... Bandon... and
exposed locations along Highway 101.

* Impacts... strong winds will produce hazardous driving
conditions on Highway 101. High winds and saturated soils will
increase the risk for downed trees and power outages.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A High Wind Warning means a hazardous high wind event is expected
or occurring. Sustained wind speeds of at least 40 mph or gusts
of 58 mph or more can lead to property damage. Travel will be
impacted... especially for high profile vehicles.
