Issued: 8:53 PM CST Feb. 23, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from midnight
tonight to 6 am CST Saturday...

A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from midnight tonight
to 6 am CST Saturday.

* Timing... a wintry mix is already occurring across parts of
southern Wisconsin this evening. The wintry mix will become
mixed with or completely changeover to freezing rain later
tonight into Friday. A changeover back to snow is expected later
Friday into Friday night.

* Snow and ice accumulations... total snow accumulations of 2 to
5 inches and ice accumulations of .10 to .30 inches are
expected.

* Winds / visibilities... northeast winds gusting to 30 mph
tonight into Friday, becoming north and then northwest Friday
evening and night. Visibilities of 1/2 mile to 1 mile are
possible in moderate snowfall.

* Impacts... the ice and snow will likely result in difficult
travel conditions, including the Friday morning and evening
commutes. In addition, ice accumulations and gusty winds could
combine to bring down tree limbs and power lines.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow... sleet or
freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for
slippery roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while
driving. The latest Road conditions for Wisconsin can be obtained
by calling 5 1 1 or by visiting www.511wi.Gov.
