The Flood Warning continues for
the Portneuf River at Pocatello.
* At 11:31 am Wednesday the stage was 9.8 feet.
* Flood stage is 8.5 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 10.2 feet by
early Sunday morning. Additional rises may be possible thereafter.
* Impact... at 10.0 feet... significant flooding of agricultual land
will occur from the Inkom and Blackrock area. Lowland flooding will
occur along sections of the river in Pocatello from portnuef gap to
the Cheyenne Avenue bridge and downstream of the Concrete channel
beginning at Sacajawea Park.

The National Weather Service in Pocatello has issued a

* flood advisory for...
snowmelt in...
central Bannock County in southeastern Idaho...

* until 1215 PM MDT Thursday

* at 1215 PM MDT, emergency management reported minor flooding due
to snowmelt continues in the vicinity of Red Rock Pass and Downata
Hot Springs, and along Marsh Creek south of Inkom. Rapid creek
east of Inkom is also exceeding its banks and has threatened
several homes. With warm temperatures and rain in the forecast,
minor flooding along creeks and streams and across fields and low
lying areas is expected to continue and may increase over the next
several days.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
McCammon, Inkom, Downey, Arimo and Virginia.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Keep children away from storm drains, culverts, creeks and streams.
Water levels can rise rapidly and sweep children away.

A flood advisory means river or stream flows are elevated, or ponding
of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.

The National Weather Service in Pocatello has extended the

* flood advisory for...
snowmelt in...
west central Caribou County in southeastern Idaho...
eastern Bannock County in southeastern Idaho...

* until 1215 PM MDT Thursday

* at 1202 PM MDT, emergency management reported high water levels
and minor flooding continue in the area from Chesterfield to
pebble. At this time, roads and homes are not affected. However,
with warm temperatures and rain in the forecast, minor flooding
along creeks and streams and in fields and low lying areas will
remain possible.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Chesterfield Reservoir and Chesterfield.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...
