Watches & Warnings

Winter Storm Warning
Issued: 2:11 PM MDT Apr. 27, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect from 6 PM this evening
to 6 PM MDT Friday...

* timing... rain will change to snow early this evening, with
moderate to heavy snow at times through Friday afternoon.

* Total snow accumulations... 4 to 10 inches, heaviest along
ridges.

* Winds/visibility..east to northeast winds 10 to 20 mph with
higher gusts. Visibilities will be reduced to a half mile or
less at times in snow and blowing snow.

* Impacts... travel will be extremely hazardous due to snow covered
roads and low visibilities. Heavy snow on fully leafed trees
could cause tree damage, with the possibility of tree branches
falling onto power lines and causing power outages.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather
conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of snow
are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in an
emergency. If you must travel... keep an extra flashlight... food... and
water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
