Updated or ended by 6:33 p.M. EDT.

At 4:45 p.M. EDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a
line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing very strong wind
gusts, up to nickel size hail and heavy rain.

The line of thunderstorms is located just west of Chatham and is
moving eastward at 40 km/h.

Strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings,
break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles. Intense
lightning is likely with any thunderstorm that develops. Remember,
severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes. Severe thunderstorm
warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are
likely to produce or are producing one or more of the following:
large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall. The office of the
fire marshal and emergency management recommends that you take cover
immediately if threatening weather approaches. Please continue to
monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report
severe weather, send an email to storm.Ontario(at)ec.Gc.CA or tweet
reports to (hash)onstorm. For more information:

Conditions are favourable for the development of severe
thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts and
heavy rain.

Hot and humid air continues to reside over southwestern Ontario.
Generally sunny skies and an approaching warm front in Northern Ohio
state has the potential to trigger severe thunderstorms this
afternoon and into the early evening for areas close to the Michigan
border.

Remember, severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes. Heavy
downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Severe
thunderstorm watches are issued when atmospheric conditions are
favourable for the development of thunderstorms that could produce
one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential
rainfall. The office of the fire marshal and emergency management
recommends that you take cover immediately if threatening weather
approaches. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued
by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to
storm.Ontario(at)ec.Gc.CA or tweet reports to (hash)onstorm. For
