... Strong thunderstorms for the morning commute...

At 746 am CDT, strong thunderstorms were along a line extending
from near Low Moor to near Cambridge. Movement was northeast at 45
mph.

Winds in excess of 40 mph and small hail is likely with these
storms as they move across portions of Whiteside, Rock Island, and
Henry counties in Illinois. At 745 am, an official with the
Illinois emergency management estimated winds to near 50 mph with
very poor visibility near the intersection of Interstate 80 and
74.

Torrential rainfall with these storms will lead to periods of
near zero visibility. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is also
occurring with these storms. When thunderstorms are occurring,
move indoors. Do not stand by windows. Avoid using telephones and
electrical appliances until the storm has passed.

Strong thunderstorms will move across the area through mid
morning. These storms will produce considerable lightning,
periods of heavy rain and possibly small hail.

When thunderstorms are occurring, move indoors. Do not stand by
windows. Avoid using telephones and electrical appliances until
the storm has passed.
