Winter Storm Warning
Issued: 3:13 PM MST Jan. 19, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 6 am MST Sunday...

* locations include the cities of... Aspen... Vail... Snowmass...
Buford... Trappers Lake.

* Timing... light snow will spread across higher elevations this
evening and continue through Friday becoming moderate at
times. A downward trend in precipitation will occur during the
day Saturday. The next system quickly arrives by Saturday
evening bringing more snowfall through Sunday morning.

* Snow accumulation... 8 to 14 inches with locally higher amounts
possible.

* Winds... southwest 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.

* Impacts... roadways will be slushy to snow packed by this
evening leading to winter driving conditions through the
weekend. Visibilities will be reduced to under a half mile at
times with moderate to heavy snow rates occurring.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow are
expected or occurring. Strong winds and blowing snow are also
possible. This will make travel very hazardous or impossible.
