Issued: 2:33 PM PST Feb. 17, 2018 – National Weather Service

... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from 10 am Sunday to
4 PM PST Monday...

* what... snow and blowing snow expected. Plan on slippery Road
conditions. In addition, areas of poor visibility are expected.
Damage to trees and power lines is possible. Total snow
accumulations of 1 to 3 inches, with localized amounts up to 11
inches, are expected.

* Where... southeastern Elko County, White Pine County and
southern Lander County and southern Eureka County.

* When... 10 am Sunday to 4 PM Monday.

* Additional details... winds gusting as high as 55 mph will
cause areas of blowing and drifting snow.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow and blowing snow means periods
of snow and blowing snow will cause primarily travel
difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited
visibilities, and use caution while driving. The latest Road
conditions for the state you are calling from can be obtained by
calling 5 1 1.

... Wind Advisory remains in effect from 7 am to 10 PM PST
Sunday...

* winds... west to northwest 25 to 35 mph with gusts to near 55
mph on higher terrain such as summits, passes, and ridge tops.

* Timing... winds will increase Sunday morning with the strongest
winds in the afternoon through early evening. Winds will
gradually subside Sunday night.

* Impacts... blowing dust will decrease visibility at times across
mainly in northern Nye County. High profile vehicles will have
difficulty maintaining lanes or straight driving, especially
along north- south routes. Unsecured property could blow around.


Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Advisory means that sustained winds of 30 mph with gusts
in excess of 45 mph are expected. Winds this strong can make
driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use
extra caution.
