The threat of rapid-life threatening flooding has ended... but the
flood threat continues for areas along the little putuxent river. A
Flood Warning has been issued to replace the Flash Flood Warning in
those areas.

The National Weather Service in Sterling Virginia has extended the

* Flood Warning for...
northeastern Prince Georges County in central Maryland...
southeastern Howard County in central Maryland...
western Anne Arundel County in central Maryland...

* until 715 am EDT

* at 339 am EDT... reporting gauges indicated the little Patuxent
River was still above flood stage and still rising downstream of
Columbia... including the Savage area. This flooding will continue
into the morning hours and move downstream towards Bowie.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Columbia... Bowie... Severn... Crofton... Elkridge... Odenton... Fort
Meade... Savage-Guilford... Scaggsville... Jessup... Savage... Fulton...
Prince Georges stadium and Georgetown.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become
unstable and unsafe.
