Watches & Warnings

Dense Fog Advisory
Issued: 2:16 AM CST Feb. 23, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Dense fog advisory in effect until 9 am CST this morning...

The National Weather Service in Nashville has issued a dense fog
advisory, which is in effect until 9 am CST this morning.

* Visibility... one quarter mile, near zero in localized areas.

* Timing... through 9 am CST.

* Impacts... low visibilities will result in hazardous travel
conditions.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A dense fog advisory means visibilities will frequently be
reduced to less than one quarter mile. If driving... slow down...
use your headlights... and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.

Special Statement
Issued: 1:47 AM CST Feb. 23, 2017 – National Weather Service

Locally dense fog is expected across the Cumberland Plateau.
Visibilities may drop below one-half mile in spots.

When driving through foggy areas... slow down, use low beam
headlights, and leave enough braking distance between you and the
vehicle in front of you.

The foggy conditions should improve by mid-morning.
