Fire Weather Warning
Issued: 3:01 PM MDT May. 25, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Red flag warning in effect from noon to 7 PM MDT Friday for
wind and low relative humidity for fire weather zones 203 and 292
in western Colorado...

The National Weather Service in Grand Junction has issued a red
flag warning for wind and low relative humidity, which is in
effect from noon to 7 PM MDT Friday.

* Affected area... in Colorado, fire weather zone 203 lower
Colorado River and fire weather zone 292 North Fork forecast
area.

* Winds... southwest 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.

* Relative humidity... 12 to 17 percent.

* Impacts... fire starts or existing fires may become difficult
to control.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
