a

* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for poor drainage areas
for...
Santa Clara County in northern California...
Santa Cruz County in northern California...
Alameda County in northern California...
Contra Costa County in northern California...

* until 1030 PM PST

* at 829 PM PST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain and possible
thunderstorms. This will cause Urban and Small Stream flooding.
Overflowing poor drainage areas will result in minor flooding in
the advisory area.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
San Jose, Oakland, Fremont, Hayward, Sunnyvale, Concord, Santa
Clara, Berkeley, Richmond, Antioch, San Leandro, Livermore,
Mountain view, Alameda, San Ramon, Pleasanton, Union City,
Milpitas, Palo Alto and Walnut Creek.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the

* timing... this afternoon and tonight.

* Winds... southerly wind gusts from 40 to 50 mph... strongest
near the coast and in the hills above 1000 feet.

* Impacts... downed trees... limbs and powerlines leading to
possible power outages. Driving of high profile vehicles will
be difficult during periods of strong winds along with extra
debris on area roads.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Advisory means that winds of 35 mph are expected. Winds
this strong can make driving difficult... especially for high
profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
