Watches & Warnings

Areal Flood Advisory
Issued: 7:55 PM MDT Jul. 30, 2016 – National Weather Service

The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a

* Arroyo and Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
north central Bernalillo County in central New Mexico...
southeastern Sandoval County in north central New Mexico...

* until 1000 PM MDT

* at 752 PM MDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated
heavy rain due to thunderstorms. These storms are developing over
Rio Rancho and north Albuquerque and are expected to produce up to
one inch of rainfall as they drift to the south over the Metro
area.

* Locations impacted include...
Albuquerque... Rio Rancho... Bernalillo... Corrales... Los Ranchos de
Albuquerque... San Felipe Pueblo... Paradise Hills... Ventana ranch...
Sandia heights and Rio Rancho city center.

This includes the following highways...
Interstate 40 between mile markers 143 and 170.
Interstate 25 between mile markers 221 and 250.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to tell how much
water is on the Road... do not drive through
fast moving water of unknown depth.

Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the
roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross
safely.

The heavy rainfall and slow movement of these storms may result in
flooding of Road intersections and low-lying
areas. Waters may begin to run in normally dry arroyos.
