Coastal Flood Advisory
Issued: 11:31 PM EDT Jun. 27, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Coastal flood advisory in effect until 2 am EDT Wednesday...

The National Weather Service in Wilmington has issued a coastal
flood advisory... which is in effect until 2 am EDT Wednesday.

* Location... portions of the lower Cape Fear River to include
downtown Wilmington.

* Coastal flooding... the tide gauge in downtown Wilmington is
forecast to reach 5.75 ft MLLW.

* Timing... the highest water levels are expected around 100 am.

* Impacts... several inches of water will cover the lowest portions of
U.S.S. North Carolina Road and battleship Rd. Water will begin to
spread out of the storm drains and onto Water Street just to the
south of Market street in downtown Wilmington.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A coastal flood advisory indicates that tides and run-off of
previous rains will combine to generate flooding of low areas
along the lower Cape Fear River.
