Areal Flood Advisory
Issued: 5:02 AM CDT Jul. 24, 2017 – National Weather Service

The National Weather Service in New Orleans has issued a

* urban and small stream flood advisory for poor drainage areas
for...
northern Pike County in southern Mississippi...
northeastern Amite County in southern Mississippi...

* until 700 am CDT

* at 501 am CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding.
Overflowing poor drainage areas will result in minor flooding in
the advisory area. Up to two inches of rain have already fallen.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
McComb, Magnolia, Summit, Smithdale and McComb Airport.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

A flood advisory means river or stream flows are elevated, or ponding
of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
