The National Weather Service in Mobile has issued a

* Flood Warning for
the Perdido river near Barrineau Park
* from late Tuesday night until Friday morning
* at 5 PM Monday the stage was... 7.2 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast
* flood stage is 13 feet.
* Forecast to rise above flood stage by Wednesday morning and continue to rise
near 14.0 feet by Wednesday evening. The river will fall below flood stage by
Friday morning.
* At 13.0 feet... river begins to leave its banks at the parking lot of
adventures unlimited. River begins to threaten several permanently parked
travel trailers.

... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect through late Tuesday
night...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of Alabama, northwest Florida, and southeast
Mississippi, including the following areas, in Alabama,
Baldwin central, Baldwin coastal, Baldwin inland, Butler,
Choctaw, Clarke, Conecuh, Covington, Crenshaw, Escambia,
Mobile central, Mobile coastal, Mobile inland, Monroe,
Washington, and Wilcox. In northwest Florida, Escambia
coastal, Escambia inland, Okaloosa coastal, Okaloosa inland,
Santa Rosa coastal, and Santa Rosa inland. In southeast
Mississippi, George, Greene, Perry, stone, and Wayne.

* Through late Tuesday night

* multiple rounds of heavy rain are expected across the entire
area through midweek. The bulk of the rain is expected to
impact the area beginning late this evening and lasting
through Tuesday night. Rainfall totals of 2 to 3 inches are
expected with locally higher amounts near 5 inches possible.
This additional rainfall will likely exacerbate the already
saturated ground across the region, which may lead to flash
flooding.

* Urban, low lying, and poor drainage areas will be the most
susceptible to flash flooding. Road closures are possible.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.

... High rip current risk remains in effect through Wednesday
evening...

* surf... 2 to 3 feet... increasing to 3 to 5 feet by Tuesday.

* Timing... tonight through Wednesday.

* Impacts... frequent life-threatening rip currents are expected.
The surf is dangerous for all levels of swimmers.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

There is a high risk of rip currents. Rip currents are life-
threatening to anyone entering the surf. Swim near a lifeguard.
If caught in a rip current remain calm. Don't fight the current.
Swim in a direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape,
face the shore and call or wave for help. If tired, float or
tread water until out of the rip current.
